And it was so well done! Like, to have K-2SO be the first to go down ("Climb! Climb!") after getting his own narrative arc, despite being a droid in the Star Wars universe. I especially loved how they showed that he would have preferred to live- he protests almost getting shot; he argues against taking risky choices; he's smug when he notes he'd survive a breach in space. But he went down so valiantly, and simply said his goodbyes, because his job was to hold the door. *sniff*
Plus Chirrut/Baze! Absolute Blind Faith has never been a character trope I really enjoyed- I prefer my characters to be actively questioning. But it was such a beautiful source of strength for both of them in the end. <3
Yeah, I was shocked by how okay I was with the Everybody Dies ending. It felt really right, though, and soooo hopeful.
