Korean Period Drama: Kingdom, daily life, taxes

So a plurk friend mentioned a Korean period piece with zombies called Kingdom and I knew I was going to have to watch it. And...and I did. I watched the whole thing. Holy wow. First off, these zombies are creepy as hell. They're fast, for one thing, and they move in these horrible jerky ways, and shriek and are just. Augh. I watched a lil bit of Train to Busan and they move similarly so this may be just how South Korea does their zombies but let me tell you, it's effective as hell when it comes to being disturbing. ;;;

Anyway, Yeong-Shin and Seo-bi are my favorite characters by far but I also really love Moo-young. I went back and forth with the Prince; there were moments of emotion that made me go awww but then there was a lot of, hmm. I don't know! I just wasn't feeling him as much, which made a lot of his story less interesting to me. I mean, I quickly figured out what the Queen was up to and I'm interested to see how all that's resolved but that doesn't have so much to do with him as it does just wanting bad people to topple haha.

THE TWIST. THE TWIST THAT IT'S NOT THE SUN THEY'RE WEAK AGAINST, IT'S TEMPERATURE. I was so fdnsjkfdha at the last episode when everyone was celebrating and taking down the protections for the day and then here come the zambinos omg. AND HOW ABOUT THAT CLIFFHANGER. HOW ABOUT THAT.

I can't wait for season 2.

I have been so tired. ;o; But I left at work at noon thirty yesterday and had today off because we only had two animals coming in (I work at a grooming salon) so I've been catching up on rest and trying to take a break from job hunting and doing fun things. ;3;

Also did my taxes! Am getting back more than I was expecting, which is really nice. Also figured out how to do them for free on turbotax hahahaha. XD

Oh man, I hate zombies so I'd never watch that, but I love love love how Korea does ghosts/ghost stories, so I am UNSURPRISED that they are super disturbing and super effective. O_O Period zombies, though!!! Awesome. (I would get nightmares though lololol)

OH man, they are so spoopy and scary. I was a little scared of getting nightmares too, ngl, but I didn't! Whew!

And the major thing about them being period zombies is that a lot of the defenses we have today are just nonexistent! Like, one character had a gun and it's like a musket or something, one of those guns you light. And so it's a lot slower than the swords everyone else uses.
