Might be going to see Mad Max tomorrow night! Even though I've heard really great things about it, I still need to lower my expectations so I won't be disappointed. But aaah, I am excited. If we don't go tomorrow, we'll probably go in a couple of weeks, if it's still showing in the local theater.

The season 5 trailer for Teen Wolf is out and it reminded me I really need to catch up on Teen Wolf. That fandom is easily one of the worst I've ever participated in and it kind of killed my excitement for the show. ;;;; But I will overcome! Maybe.

I hope everyone who's getting a three day weekend enjoys it! Unfortunately, I (voluntarily!) work Saturday and Sundays, with Monday and Tuesday being being my normal days off so it's a regular weekend for me. Which is okay! I don't have a problem with this. |3

:D! I might be seeing Mad Mad tomorrow too! I've heard some good things about it... The main thing for me is, I've heard there's a lot of neat practical effects, so that's what pushed me to going. Hopefully it'll be a good time.

Harsh fandoms are the worst!! :( People really underestimate just how much impact on people actually watching a show can be influenced by its fans, and it happens across a much wider spread of social media than most realize. I know I only tend to get into the fandom side of things once a series is finished, but then, I often get into fandoms late!

Ah, damn. I haven't even watched season 4 of Teen Wolf yet. So much catching up to do!

Oh, I hadn't heard that. Even better. I love practical effects. :D But I also loved the original Mad Max movies so I want to see how this one is handled too. :3

Yeah, and this fandom on tumblr is rife with over-the-top SJWs, ship shaming, character hate, and so many callouts. It's ridiculous. I do fall under the "Scott McCall is fucking awesome" side but even that side is toxic. It's so bad. :\

I know nothing about TW, but it seems like everyone's become incapable of consuming a media without feeling obligated to live on a soapbox about how it's either so ~progressive~ or ~detrimental~. I'm like can't I just watch a show I enjoy without keeping a running SJ tally please?

I went into Mad Max, really not knowing much of anything about it, and was pleasantly surprised! The trailer really didn't grab me too much as it didn't seem like it had too much of a story line to it. I ended up really liking it.

OH MAN. I loved it. I talked about it here (I also talked about Interstellar in that post so watch for spoilers if you care about that movie!) but to sum it up, I'm pretty sure I could watch Fury Road every day for the rest of my life and be okay with that. XD

Oh I know me too!!!
I just saw it again today! The first time I saw it they had the audio up wayyy to high, so I missed some of the key things that were being said, it sounded gibberish to me. This time, it was a lot quieter so I understood everything.
Nicholas Hoult being in it was one of the things that did convince me to initially see it when I wasn't so sure haha.
