Honestly, Marvel is having a huge problem and there's been a huge problem in general where they don't know how to write soft, honestly good people. It's painfully obvious since the Civil War arch in the comics, honestly.

Good, nice, optimistic characters aren't WEAK, but these writers can't seem to grok that. Check out the original Logan in the mini run that Miller/Claremont did and then look at him towards the end? What happened to that "gruff uncle" of the Xmen?

Fuck, what happened to SCOTT?

They seem to have forgotten that these are COMIC BOOKS and want to go in for shock value. It's just like... multifaceted male characters are not a thing anymore.

And it really IS a slap in the face. One of the few places that young Jewish people can see heroes and feel represented was the comic books (FUCK YEAH KITTY PRYDE). They didn't have to go there.
