God, it feels like i just updated yesterday but actually I update??? Last Saturday???? It just seems like there's so much going on.

Speaking of which, I got the email about the September StoryADay challenge. I signed up, because I don't already have enough on my plate, but I'm not going to take it too terribly seriously. Probably 100-ish words a day? But stand alone stories each (maybe).

I've been reading a lot of Fullmetal Alchemist fic lately. I've only watched the 2003 anime and apparently Brotherhood is like, a masterpiece, so I'm going to start watching that soon. FMA is one of the few anime I kinda like the dub on, haha, it's the only time I like Vic what's his face. I binged the original anime when I went to Otakon one year and I have such great memories of hanging out with my best friend in her living room that I've always had a bias against Brotherhood but I think ~enough time has passed~ hahaha.

I'm one of the few fans (out of those I've run into) that love the 2003 anime and Brotherhood equally... probably because I see them as two separate entities? The 2003 anime is my favorite, but I love both.

Brotherhood follows the manga more closely so I think that factors into the equation of why people like it better.

Do tell about the differences between the 2003 version and Brotherhood when you're finished :) I started with the 2003 version and tried switching over in the middle, but found out I much preferred the 2003 version (at that point in the story) and finished that. I'm still planning to watch Brotherhood, eventually, probably, one day.

Aha, well it's been a long time since I've watched the 2003 version but I remember some of it. I'll definitely be able to tell you which one I like better, at least. XD

I started Brotherhood, when it was airing, but kind of fell off after a handful of episodes. I should really give it another shot one of these days.

One thing I have heard is that it helps to have seen the 2003 series because some of the early story gets streamlined in Brotherhood up until the plots diverge

I've heard that as well! Which is okay with me, some of the early story wasn't the most interesting to me. XD

The early episodes of Brotherhood felt rushed (I think they were like, you've seen the other anime and read the manga, you know this part, right?), but once it gets past the earliest story arcs, it's really good. I do like both, though.

Yeah and I'm totally on board with that since the earlier part of the 2003 version is what I remember best, haha.

I like both of them, but I think Brotherhood has a more satisfying arc and conclusion, although I do kind of like the bittersweet angst of the 2003 ending in terms of Ed's storyline.

God, that 2003 ending. Oh the angst. XD I've never read the manga so I'm definitely interested in that conclusion, haha.
