Mar. 12th, 2018 10:40 amSo we've always kept chickens. Like, when I was a child and we lived in an old farmhouse, we had chickens, and then when we moved and we kept some hens and a rooster. Welp, the last of our hens died a few months ago (old age, they lasted a long time) so we went to tractor supply to pick up. some new egg-layers. Except they were all straight run, which means males and females mixed together and there's really no way to tell them apart. :D :D :'D So instead of buy regular chickens, we, uh, bought four ducklings and four bantam chicks (kinda like miniature chickens? They end up being half the size of regular chickens, and these all have feather fuzz on their feet/legs SOOOO they're so kind of fancy chicken; I'm thinking they're going to be bantam Cochins).

We had them all together but the chicks are less than half the size of the ducklings and they were already starting to get bullied. And these were all straight run too, so watch us end up with four drakes and four roosters, hahaha aaaahhh. But they're cute though!
