With Daylight Saving Time over, it's dark at around 4:45pm here. I'm so bad at functioning when it's dark out; I love cozy, spooky weather, windy and rainy, but the sun actually going away so early is Too Much. Despite this, I've managed to write (!!!) a fic yesterday (~600 words) and complete a fic today (~1500 words!). I'm intensely proud of myself! Afterwards I watched cypher play Genshin Impact; they were doing the Thoma hangout. No spoilers but what an absolute muffin. ♥ ♥ ♥

I'm flying to Georgia for the weekend to visit my mom. Honestly I'm not super looking forward to it. I mean, I want to see her and pet the dogs/cats and stuff but I don't really want to leave my home, if that makes sense. Not for Covid-related reasons or anything like that, I just. I'm a homebody, I guess! I would rather have these days off from work and have a staycation.

Speaking of work, it's been pretty miserable lately, in a very average "retail work requires teamwork and this team has been calling out a lot lately, plus home office isn't helping us with facilities issues so that's making everything harder." Which. I mean, there's nothing that can really be done about it. It's frustrating! But oh well. Plus holiday season is gearing up! So that's a little bit of extra crazy. But it's okay.

I totally can relate to wanting to stay at home! I always feel better about trips/visiting once I'm there, but leading up to it all I can think about is how much I love being at home haha

Sorry work has been nuts! I would say I hope it calms down but I feel like it's only getting busier from here! Hopefully you get some good seasonal staff :)

Yes! The lead up is easily the worst part. Unfortunately I ended up not being able to go, which is genuinely a bummer but just means I need to plan out a trip later on.

Whew! Fortunately, while my job is retail, it's the best retail I've ever worked in and we don't do anything special for Black Friday or extend store hours or any of that nonsense.

Staycations are so nice when you can curl up and just do Fun Things without having to do the stress of travel and being away from pets and whatnot. I hope you get some good relax time soon ♥

YES! To the dark and the leaving. lol I don't mind being different places, but I don't like leaving.
