A while back I downloaded the 30 day trial version of Manga Studio. WHOA. It's not particularly intuitive but I played around with it today and I'm beginning to understand it better. It's definitely helpful in terms of creating comics, which makes sense since that's the whole point, hahaha. This program isn't very expensive so I'll probably be buying it soon-ish. :3

So [personal profile] omens linked a bunch of comics on Tapastic and now I kind of want to work on a webcomic? I mean technically I'm working on a graphic novel for school but the webcomic would be for Josh and the hooded man (which most of you probably don't know but I'll be creating an original fiction filter so that you guys get to meet these characters) and that's a pretty dark, unhealthy story. I mean. The comic for school needs to be a coming of age story and I guess technically Josh's story is, in a pretty horrible kind of way. XD

Uhm, hmmm. Lineness digital painting is really difficult; I don't know what the disconnect is between traditional painting (which is lineless, of course) and digital paintings but it's giving me fits. As is speed painting, haha. Oh well. I just need to keep practicing.

I checked out Manga Studio once and it was very beautiful in terms of comic help, especially paneling. I can't quite wrap my brain around paneling sometimes. ^^;

You should definitely do a webcomic though! I really want to do one too but who knows how long before I finally get my laptop fixed, and get a drawing tablet. What I'm saying is that I want to live my webcomic dream vicariously through you for now. XD

I've watched Youtube videos of Manga Studio (I watch a lot of speedpaints, etc) and it's always looked amazing. Good luck with it!

LOL neither am I. I've used SAI and Photoshop to colour things before, but only at very low skill level. Watching other people's though, I find it really relaxing. I can watch speedpaints and speedarts for hours.

Oh man, I so couldn't figure out Manga Studio (& that was MS4, I think, which came with the intuos4, maybe? it was ages ago) but for just illustration things, you should check out sketchbook pro! (by autodesk) you can test a month for 3$ which is pretty great. they have great markers, perspective tools, flipbooks for animation & symmetry tools *__*

Lineless painting totally takes F O R E V E R but maybe that's just cuz I'm a n00b, too? I imagine it gets easier. Layers, though. So many layers!

Anyhoo, I would ttly follow your comic if you post one!

Yesssss, it's like re-training your brain & think about painting in a whole different way. X_X

So many ppl love paint tool sai! i don't think I've ever tried it. I lost my serial for photoshop elements so I bounce between Mischief (infinite zoom/canvas *_______*), fire alpaca (good for "penciling"),sketchbook pro and artrage (sweet painterly effects) but they're all Not Perfect. :P :P I think one day I'll just admit that digital art is not my Thing, but I'm not done trying yet ;D

Will you link me some of the comics you liked?! I love following web comics and some of my favourites have finished lately! I'm finding my daily checking to be a bit empty, and I'm looking for new ones!

I would love to read your webcomic !
