I woke up panicky this morning which was just wonderful. I don't know what my problem is; there's nothing to stress this much over. Little things make me upset, I'm getting angry all the time. It's not healthy. :\

I spent a good portion of yesterday drawing and that was pretty great. I'm trying to apply the techniques I've learned in painting to my digital work, however it still looks very same-y to what I've been doing. It's probably because my composition skills suck. I really need to find better stock images. XD But it's still a nice Makoharu piece so that's nice.

I want to wriiiiiite. I don't want to be at work today. I might take a long lunch and go somewhere; I'd really like to finish some of the little ficlets for this prompt table before getting into the longer pieces I'll be writing for various exchanges. I need to get back into the habit of writing every day. But sometimes I only have time for writing or drawing and drawing is going to win every time.



So apparently Haru went with Rin to Australia and now wants to be a professional swimmer. I didn't want this to happen. ;;; From what I've heard, it's a super cute episode but I wanted Haru to get to be free to make his choice - it seems like instead he'd been herded to this point since the first season and now he's basically given in? I don't know. I need to watch the episodes before forming an opinion but it's difficult to muster of the will to do so now, hahaha.


ALSO Makoharu fandom is losing their collective minds, which is a bit frustrating to see. We've always know that Rin and Haru were ~brothers of the water~ sorts. We've always known they had a connection. I'm disappointed that Makoto and Haru aren't in a good place right now too but...it's kind of a good thing? I mean, they need distance. And it's not forever.

I really want all the Makoto/Haru reunion fics, ngl though. Haru and Rin visiting him in Tokyo. Haru being surprised at how well Makoto has adapted to the bustling city life and the heavy course load that Tokyo University has and how popular he is. This is very similar to one of my Makoto birthday exchange requests. I just. I love Makoto so much. How did he become my favorite character. I'm way more invested in his future university career than I am in Rin and Haru's swimming careers, whoops.


Anyway, I don't appreciate this show emotionally compromising me like that. I don't appreciate it at all. XD

I think you probably need to watch the episodes, to be honest. Haru's kind of been on my shitlist this entire season since he's being a fucking brat.

Oh jeez. I know that when they argued he called Makoto a meddler or something like that and I'm just like bro, seriously, if Makoto hadn't "meddled" you never would have gotten to class and also would have been arrested for public indecency several times over. At the least.

Anyway, I'll probably catch up tomorrow night. The season finale is this Wednesday, right?

I would say the fight with Makoto had been building for multiple episodes, but Haru's been kind of crappy to everyone around him, tbh.

It was more like swimming pro was probably the only way Haru's gonna make a living whilst being 'free to swim in the water 5ever' but Haru suddenly got scared because The Pressure from Everyone? Or at least that's how I interpreted it.

UGH this is why I don't interact much with the fandom. People, calm your tits. Why the hell can't you let other shippers ship whatever they want to ship lord

I haven't watched any of season two because I apparently suck at watching tv by myself, but Makoto is hands down my favorite character. <3333 I'm so excited to hear that he made it into Tokyo University.

Well, I think he just said he was going to a university in Tokyo but because he's my precious baby sunshine, I'm happy to assume it's Tokyo University. XD

Well, I mean! A university in Tokyo, I think it's pretty normal to just assume Tokyo University! And I headcanon that he's going to be a pediatrician because he was so good with coaching the little kids. That's what I'm going with. |D

I agree. I mean, within the first three minutes of the very first episode, he does that quote about being a prodigy/a genius/ordinary and literally goes, "Man, I can't wait to be ordinary." Yet the entire series forces him down this path of pro swimming that I don't feel like he has ever wanted.

The scene in ep 12 where he makes that decision didn't feel organic to me in the overall context of the series. Personally, I would have liked to see him pursue something else, and keep swimming as a personal thing. Just because he's good at it and enjoys doing it competitively in some circumstances doesn't mean he should have to commit to doing it as a career.

(NB: I might over-identify with this whole issue. I got a degree in Creative Writing only to realize I didn't want to write for a living, it's just something I love doing. And upon that realization, I had no idea wtf to do with my life, so now I'm in retail hell.)

Yeah, I mean Haru loves swimming but being a professional swimmer means swimming when you're told and not really having much choice about it. Any kind of professional loses their freedom. I've seen people on tumblr say that he'll be a professional his way and I'm thinking that's....not how it works. At all. XD

I wanted him to be a chef! I really love the idea of him being one of those super intense foodies. |D
