Media Roundup!
☆ Krampus: I don't know what I was expecting with this film but haha man, it was dumb as hell. Also pretty funny and the whole thing was pretty tongue in cheek. I was wanting a happy ending and the way I interpreted the ending was super dark, but I guess that's all you can expect from a comedy-horror
☆ 10 Cloverfield Lane: So okay, I have had a crush on Mary Elizabeth Winstead ever since I first saw her in Final Destination 3 so this film already had that going in its favor. I really liked how uncertain everything was in this film; was John Goodman a terrible man, were there monsters outside, was the air really poisonous? The ending fell a little flat after the monster reveal occurred but overall it was a pretty great movie.
☆ The Boy: Haha, okay, I also have a crush on Lauren Cohan so this was another film that had that going in its favor. This was another one that worked well with how uncertain everything seemed. It was a great haunted house movie and the reveal that Brahms was still alive and creeping around the house was, while probably not a huge surprise, was really nicely done. Brahms was both horrifying and pretty sympathetic. His parents did him no favors by not seeking out psychiatric help, haha. I also liked how creepy he was towards the lead character because I like creepsters, what can I say.
Also, Mom watched Age of Ultron and really liked it! This is the woman who once said she didn't like superhero movies! And yet she adored Winter Soldier and Avengers, went with me to watch Civil War, and now really liked Age of Ultron. Doesn't like superhero movies, my butt.
I've been devouring Fast and Furious fics! I don't know what brought back my interest in this fandom that I'd had a brief but intense affair with back in freaking 2001 and then wrote maybe two ficlets for in like, 2009? I haven't even seen all the movies! I watched the first one and then
imperion and I watched Fast and Furious when it came out in theaters but that's it. Although I'm terribly tempted to buy the box set and binge on these ridiculous movies. And then write all the Dom/Brian fic I can handle. ;;;

DID U SEE CHARLIZE THERON AS THE BADDIE IN Fast and Furious 8 (which I have already dubbed Fast and Furiosa in my head)??

I SAW THAT how exciting! I'll admit, I'm not as interested in anything past 7, due to Brian O'Conner no longer being around, but I'm interested to see Charlize Theron driving more cars like a maniac. And Fast and Furiosa is perfect.
