Steve closed the book and leaned back in the chair, brow furrowed. “Huh. Not sure if I like that epilogue very much.” He set the book down on the coffee table and smiled. “But there we go. Another huge cultural milestone down. How many to go?” He took out his tablet and marked “Harry Potter” off the list. “I’ll find an adventure book to read next. You’ve always liked those.”
Bucky didn’t reply. The frost of the cryo was thicker in some places than in others but Steve had a clear view of his peaceful, sleeping face.
“Yeah. You’ve always like those.” As Steve left, he paused to press one hand against the cool glass. “Good night, Buck.”
