OH MAN what a wonderful day off. <3 I bought the kitties a new toy (one of those long kicker toys) and they love it; I probably need to buy a couple more so they don't have to share so much. Early afternoon had me taking a nap and having dreams I don't remember, except they were draped in the colors and atmosphere as the art I'm trying to create. And later afternoon/evening was spent drawing.

My interest in fandom ebbs and flows and I think I'm in a period of ebbing. Part of that is dumb emotional stuff and part of that is just wanting to do my own thing. The art I've been working on has been original and kinda personal, although if you look at it it probably looks like any other similar scene, haha, but I'm...enjoying creating something that's not at least partially about how other people will like it? I mean, I'm going to post it up in various places (which reminds me, I need to figure out where artists post art now that tumblr has shit the bed) but it's still mostly for me (not saying people create fandom pieces for likes and kudos but I definitely do).

And by fandom I specifically mean fanart/fanfiction. I still want to consume media and talk about it, I'm just not invested in spending my creativity towards it at the moment. It'll come back though, it always does. :3

I've felt that way often. I even walked away from fandom things for 10 years and only discussed things with people in person lol.

Whew, ten years!! That's quite a span of time! I don't think mine will be that severe (and sadly I don't really have anyone to discuss fannish things in person); I'll definitely keep my journal updated with stuff. :3

I think it ebbs and flows for most people unless they constantly fall in love with new fandoms which some do of course and more power to them.

I mostly hang online with a lot of people I met through fandom where we've been friends for long enough that we just chat away about anything not necessarily the fandom that brought us together in the first place.

Seems as though artists are scattered everywhere between Tumblr, Twitter, and Pillowfort. The latter is nice, but still costs for entry so not as exciting ;;

Aw man, that kinda stinks. Tumblr's porn ban (that ended up deleting a lot of not porn) has really soured me towards them, pillowfort ended up attacking and deleting some loli artist, and twitter is too flash in the pan. Instagram is still pretty popular but it's even more flash in the pan than twitter is! XD
