I've spent most of this weekend feeling mildly sorry for myself in ways that I do not actually understand. Things are pretty good! I don't know why I feel this way! lol. I think I'm mostly just feeling disconnected. Which is something I don't really know how to fix, so wooo! :D

Anyways, on to better things!

Saturday morning we went to a local park and it was cold but lovely. There were so many other people out with their dogs! Unfortunately Selphie is kind of a jerk so I do not let her around other dogs but it was still very nice to see them, haha. Also, lots of lovely birds around!

Some ducks and a robin! There were lots of crows, of course, and I'm not sure how I didn't get a single picture of them!

Speaking of birds, a murmuration of starlings visited today!

Very loud noisy friends!

I also started some seeds inside, in hopes to harden them off and transplant them outdoors mid/late-March!

toilet paper rolls cut in half and lined up in a black tray little seedlings sprouting up from the toilet paper rolls cut in half with dirt in them

I'd read that you can use toilet paper rolls for this so I collected a bunch and cut them in half. This first round is bok choi, broccoli, and basil but I have a second tray almost ready to start some flowers. It's very exciting! I will plant some directly in the ground later on but I really wanted to get some started. I'm impatient for spring. ;o; These baby plants are already so much taller. ;3;

I'm not super looking forward to work tomorrow but I feel bad feeling that way because my job is pretty sweet. ;3; At least it's a four day work week. Which is again, because my job is awesome and was like, "Okay, this Friday is going to be a little paid company closure!" Which I will not disagree with at all.

Oooh, that's a brilliant hack for keeping seedlings separate. *makes note*

Seed babies! 👀 I'm also feeling very disconnected lately. I am hoping it is just a February Thing. Let's go, Spring already ;_;

Lovely bird photos!

And hooray for seed starting :) A friend gave me a tool that makes essentially those paper rolls, except made of newspaper. They were a raging success last year.

They're just sturdy enough. The newspaper held up long enough to sprout the seedlings and let me set them out, but the roots had gone through at the bottom without a problem - and sometimes through the sides.

I'll definitely do that again.

I love the color contrast of the robin on the green grass.
