I'm back home! The two week trip to Georgia to take care of my mom was quite the adventure. She's doing well! The surgery ended up being much more invasive than we'd originally thought! Cut for surgery details! ) She had to stay in the hospital for a couple of days, which she was not happy about, but was able to go home. She seems to be healing up really well! The doctors told her to take it easy but do not go to bed rest; be sure to walk around. So she did that!

Guys, it ended up, haha, being a really lovely visit. The circumstances weren't great but she seems to be doing so very well. We talked shit about family and talked about plants and petted her many, many kitties and doggos.

And guys, she's doing so well. So well. She's healing well, she seems to be taking her care seriously (making sure she eats even if she's really not hungry (guys, she's 5'3" and weighs 107 lbs), making sure she walks even when she doesn't really want to be), and she just seems really positive.

And I'm really positive too! It just. Like, she has breast cancer and will be starting treatment for that soon. And that's super not great. But as far as everything concerning her abdomen goes, she's doing really fucking well. Like. Ridiculously so. She already feels so much better getting that mess out of her.

Anyway! I'm back home in Seattle and so thankful to be so. It was nice to see my hometown again, nice to see what has changed and what hasn't. But I definitely heard more homophobic slurs in these two weeks than in the past two years, and it was so hot and unpleasant. But the frogs croaking on the lake was wonderful and the wind rustling through the trees was so nice, and seeing the park of my youth. And seeing my partner see all these things~! That was also very nice.

Anyways. Very glad to be back. Very glad to be back at the job where I get paid much more than I ever would have, and the neighborhoods that have so much more to do, and being able to hold my partner's hand in public without fear of attack.
