Plant your hope with good seeds

Today was day one of a four day weekend and we're not having Friendsgiving until Saturday, so I started a new game in BG3.



The first image is my favorite of him; the second shows off his blue-tipped horns. He's a Mephistopheles Tiefling sorcerer specializing in storm sorcery. The scar on his face is due to a lightning mishap when he was younger. He compulsively lights every candle (because I gotta light every candle) and is generally good (although he's a survivor and he'll do what needs to be done to save his own neck) but he'll also egg situations on if he thinks the outcome will be funny. He's the most beautiful character I have ever created and I love him.

Also some spoilery screenshots under the cut (that could be considered NSFW if you work in a very conservative environment; it's basically a vampire bite with the victim apparently dying (he gets better).

and in a completely different vein, also played some of Space Marine 2. This game stresses me out so much l m a o but I press on because I want to write porn shippy stuff with these characters.

In other news, I've been doing a lot of work for Warhammer 40k OCs lately, haha. Actually using a spreadsheet to keep all the info together neatly. Here, I will show you!



It doesn't look like a lot but it still took me a little while. XD; It's really nice to be able to just. Do what I want with these characters. They're mine! I'm being super self-indulgent, their relationships with each other are messy, they don't understand feelings, but they're definitely feeling a lot of them! It's...a lot of fun. ;3;

I started listening to Carry On by Rainbow Rowell but I'm really struggling to stay interested. I think I might be over teenagers in stories unless I'm in a very specific mood. Give me grown adults please, preferable 35 and up. XD

I've been considering (and have started building, altho none of it's published) keeping up with a website. Nothing big, just a kind of. General nerdery site. Just a place where I can post about anime I'm watching, minis I'm painting, TTRPGs/board games/video games I'm playing, and stuff like that.

Now you might be asking, Nan, why don't you just do that on dreamwidth? And yes, that's an extremely valid question. My kneejerk reaction is that this site feels too fandom-y, but that's dumb because literally everything listed above is fandom-related. But then I'm like, this journal has been too personal. But I could actually use my subscription/access things the correct way and lock everything personal down.

But idk! I guess WordPress feels like neutral ground? It's not social media, it's not a blog (although you can have a blog on your site!), it's just. Internet space. If that makes sense. Does that make sense? Hmm. Anyway, we'll see how this goes but I'm hoping the maintenance of this blog will help me stay on top of actually enjoying the things I mention above.

I've played about 5 hours of Baldur's Gate, which isn't a lot but it's more than I've been able to focus on any other game, so I'm counting it as a win! I'm playing as a druid half-elf named Rikas who's ENTIRELY up his own ass about everything and is so impatient and hateful, it's so great. XD I don't have strong feelings about any of the companions yet...I'm gonna cut this just in case, haha. ( Talking about early game companions ). So there's that! When looking up the names of the characters, I saw how many companions there are! 25 in the base game???? So many!

Achievements so far: Completionist, On My Own, Friendly Faces at the Friendly Arm, Worst Body Guard Ever, He Started It, The Written Word.

Also, tonight W put a lightbulb in the overhead light in the dry craft room, so I went in there and got not one, but two pencil sketches in! I've started using references (and it's ridiculous how helpful references are and it's ridiculous how I keep forgetting how helpful they are) and it's been so helpful in getting emotions and stuff better. Guys, I drew such a tender hand this evening. It was great.

Speaking of emotions! I'm so proud of this piece I did for the Warhammer 40k Summerfest but it's not gotten much interest at all; even the recipient hasn't commented, lol. But that's okay! I'm still really pleased with it! It's Warhammer 40k, gen, completely SFW. Lukas the Trickster and Leman Russ, two Space Wolves who never actually meet in canon but I think they would have gotten along pretty well. :)
