So many things!
Dec. 9th, 2023 02:03 pmBlessed weekend! This past week has been hectic at work so I'm very glad for the break. Yesterday my immediate boss had childcare cancel on her so I had to go do a meet and greet with the founders of one of the brands we represent, which was a little intimidating! But it went really well and I got a cute little ball cap out of it, which is pretty neat! Last week was also my last full workweek of the year. Next week and the week after are just four days each, and then it's Christmas break! Wooo!
Our local Warhammer store is having a Secret Santa type exchange, where everyone fills out a list of things they want, and then the manager hands the lists out and you get to buy for a stranger. I went a little overboard and ended up buying my recipient three of the items they wanted (which is allowed, and apparently people will show up and ask for the lists of people who haven't received as many presents; I think that's extremely charming). The party is on the 16th and I'm not sure what else is going to be happening. Oh, except for Dreadnought tag team fights! I have Bjorn the Fell-Handed and the Ballistus Dreadnought, so theoretically I can participate in that! I don't know if I'll punk out or not but...I would like to try to play a lil. ;3; But I need to finish painting them lol.
Last night I watched Smosh's Anthony is Dead: The Funeral Roast and it was so, so good. Guys, I loved the entire fucking thing (except Brandon Rogers but I've never found him very funny tbh) and I'm so happy for Ian and Anthony and I'm so proud of Courtney for directing such a good show and everyone really brought their A game, it was so much fun.
A few weeks ago, I'd received several string of things cuttings; right now the string of hearts and string of dolphins are the two who have grown significant roots, but everything else is looking pretty good (except for the variegated string of pearls, it's looking a little rough). I'm not really sure what to pot them in as they are very, very tiny and I do not have any very, very time pot that actually have drainage. But they should be able to last in there until I can buy some, I think. :\a I don't want to wait too long because I'm PARANOID. I have accidentally killed SO MANY LITTLE STRING OF THINGS. I REALLY WANT THESE LITTLE GUYS TO MAKE IT.
I need to clean up my plant room and take pictures of it to show you guys. There's still some stuff from roommate who moved out in there but hopefully that'll get gone soon, and it's such a bright, happy making space. ♥ ♥ ♥
Oh, ALSO. My local board game store (NOT the Warhammer store mentioned above) was handing out scratch off tickets for a percentage of an entire purchase made between the 11-17. Guys. I got the 50% off ticket. Of which there were only TWO. Can you freaking believe that???? How lucky!! Will and I are absolutely going to go in together and buy so much stuff. Paints and brushes and new minis and maybe some two person board games. It's going to be magical, omg.
I've been struggling a bit with depression and anxiety but also recognizing that that's been happening, which is good; I hate getting my crazy on other people. I'm a huge believer of CBT and positive thinking (don't get me wrong, I'm on meds as well, lol, but I do think there is power in both of these things) but sometimes I just gotta go be sad for a little while. I've decided that's okay to do once in a while but also please stop doomscrolling and marinating in negativity, self. ;;;;
(Also Seattle late fall/winter is brutal, today the sun rose at 7:45am and will set at 4:17pm, this kills the Nan)
But anyways, that's what's been going on here! Just a whole lot of stuff, haha. <3
