So I was talking on plurk earlier today about marketing and building a brand and how, if you're going to try to succeed in a creative field, you have to do this thing. Unfortunately, I don't...know how to do this thing.

Take for example Tea Fox Illustrations. Such good branding. The title suggests exactly what you're going to get! And the work definitely has a theme, a generality that it falls under.

I don't really know...what my work is, really. I know that the comic I'm working on started as a super hero origin story but has deviated into some kind of fantasy/sf thing. The work is primarily digital but I like dabbling in traditional media. IT'S PRETTY SAFE TO SAY I'm interested in genre fiction (primarily fantasy, sf, and horror) with m/m relationships. Now how to shorten that down into a title. EVERYONE KNOWS TITLES ARE THE WORST THINGS TO COME UP WITH.

I don't know, guys. I know this is all stuff that's necessary but marketing is weird and hard and I don't understand how it works. ;3;

Auughhhhh this is something I can't figure out for myself too. I just stuck with my name because I like to make too much variety in my things ; 3 ;

Ugh, this is something I've been struggling with too. ;n; I do too much of everything to pin it down well enough to name a thing, and I need to figure something out because all the reasons. =n=

If you'd like to talk to someone about it, I'd be happy to help out. My wife and I do branding and the like from time to time and really enjoy doing it! I linked some examples below. :)

Wife just got a new contract and is presenting a line in a fashion show in May, but we're open to talk.

email would be best. :) writingxavier at gmail whenever you get a chance. What I'll need is a sort of idea of what you'd like to do, what your goals are, and the like. Long or as short as you like.
