Dec. 26th, 2023 10:10 amEDIT: So I started writing this on Christmas day but it is now the 26th. So. Read it as if it were posted yesterday. XD
Merry Christmas to those who celebrate and Happy Monday to those who don't! I had a small zoom call with my mom, sister, niece, and her three kids (also her husband). It went okay, although my niece's kids are extremely poorly behaved and she doesn't actually do anything to calm them down. ;;; Also her oldest kid dropped the bomb that she's pregnant, which sucks because she's been with her boyfriend for maybe six months and has been employed for two weeks. I already knew but my mom and sister didn't and I felt so bad for them. Especially since my niece and her daughter were treating it like ti was a huge joke. I know it was nervous energy but still, that was just. Really unnecessary and uncomfortable.
But before that horrible call, W and I exchanged gifts. We kinda exchanged gifts throughout the month tbh, there was no chill and no sense of reason. Most of what we exchanged was Warhammer related (the brain rot continues!) but they also got me the Baking Yesteryear Cookbook which was such a surprise! And they also got me the Grabie watercolor set, which I'd mentioned seeing on TikTok and was interested in buying for myself in the new year. They beat me to it. ♥ I've already filled out the color swatches and the paint goes on very smoothly! I was impressed. :3
I have this week off and I'm going to spent a good portion of it cleaning my house, both for the little get together we're hosting next week, but also because going into the new year with a tidy house just seems like the correct thing to do! But I'm also going to spend a good bit of time curled up with kitties and building/painting minis and playing video games (the Steam Winter Sale is happening and I've gotten a couple of games!).
