FF has been on my list of Games to Try for so long! Do you think starting with FFXV would be a good idea, or should I play any of the older FF titles first?

There's no connection between this and previous games and there's a huge shift in battle system and everything so while there are some callbacks (Chocobos, Prompto humming the battle song that's pretty much the same from previous FFs, you can buy music to play in the Regalia that's from previous FFs), this is very much its own adventure. When you start the game, it even says "A Final Fantasy for Fans and First-Timers". :D
