NaNoWriMo 2017

So I guess I should talk a little bit about my new NaNo story since it has completely changed up! It's kind of turned into a weird mixture of Stranger Things (a mysterious young girl is found, but in this she's found by an extremely down on his luck thief who saves her, they end up working together, she totally looks to him as an older brother/father figure-type character even though he's only a few years older than her - she's like 8, he's in his late teens/early 20s) and Final Fantasy XII (the aforementioned thief, the technological aspects, the world type, stuff like that).

This has been a story in my head for a long time but never one I really wanted to write, haha. I have certain scenes that I want to have happen (and I had a dream last night that would actually work perfectly for this!) but not an overarching plot. What are they trying to do? What is the endgame? Kinda hoping it just comes to me as I write, haha.

I've been participating in Nanowrimo since 2003 and I've only won twice - one time I had the story totally plotted out, the other time I didn't. So we'll see how it goes this time around.
