Major shout outs and thanks to everyone who commented on my previous post. Things got worse and I ended up calling the Washington Crisis Care non-emergency line and was basically told to "hang in there and go back to sleep" which isn't the most helpful thing in the world.
I kept my boss reasonably up to date with how I was doing and how much I was struggling and she sent me this:

Which was so nice and sweet! And she said that the words were just as helpful as what the crisis agent said but are still better because at least it's coming from a potato. And I agree, much better this way. This little friend lives on my desk now.
But in good new, I'm back in therapy! My therapist made me sob in the intake appointment and now we're seeing each other on a weekly basis. :'D No, I'm really happy to be back in, clearly I've been struggling and I'm so glad to be getting some help.
My 38th birthday is coming up fast and I kind of asked for time off on a bit of a whim; I only asked for four days off but they're attached to weekends + company closure day + a holiday so all totally it's ten days off. TEN WHOLE DAYS OFF, fuck yeeeaaaah. I'm planning what I want to do. Definitely on the itinerary is the Northwest Flower and Garden Festival! I'm so intensely excited. :D I would also love to hit up a farmers market and/or Pike Place and see what kind of tasty things we can find. But also, parks!
Definitely something I will be doing is working on the various gardens + tearing up the lawn where I want more gardens to go. It is my wish to not have a front lawn at all, just gardens and interesting plants. The backyard can stay so that a little dog has a place to run around and roll around and enjoy grass. If not my little baby dog (who is a shocking 11 years old, what the actually fuckkk

then future little baby dogs.
Speaking of gardening!

Click either image to imbiggen! We also have 10 ocean sprays, 5 rhododendrons, either 5 or 10 honeysuckle, and 10 mock oranges arriving in March. I'm so ready for spring. ;3;
In other news, there's going to be a Warhammer US Open event in Tacoma right around W's birthday, so hopefully tickets will still be on sale by the time we have money to throw at it. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. :)
There's also already been murmuring about the 2024 Armies on Parade event, which I do kinda want to participate in. I think my local stores won't focus on the competition part so much as the participation part, which is what I'm more interested in. I'm not the best painter but I have fun with it and I would like to show off a bit of what I've done. I just have to decide which army to focus on. :\a Somewhat related, I signed up for that Fandom 50 thing that has been going around. I signed up purely focusing on Warhammer, although if I thought gardening were more of a fandom thing I would have signed up for that, lmao.

Date: 2024-02-06 05:19 am (UTC)It really does! This is our first year going and I'm hoping there will be interesting, region specific cultivars. :D I'm telling myself that whatever I spend is for my birthday and for the house. That's responsible, right? XD
Oh, boo! I updated this post and just added some of the puppy photos to it. :D

Date: 2024-02-07 06:55 pm (UTC)I hope things get better for you, friend! The feeling of deep sadness with no obvious cause is one of the least enjoyable parts of the human condition. I have no words more helpful than the potato, but I will say having ten days off is super awesome and sounds extremely well earned!

Date: 2024-02-08 02:22 am (UTC)Thank you! When I'm sad I listen to Tom Cardy's "H.S." which is basically the same thing that the potato is saying so there might be something to it. |D
I'm going to document my days off! I'm starting a huge project and I'm excited to get started on it!
